Small Acts of Kindness

Small Acts of Kindness is an award winning, high impact, Watford based, charitable organisation working in partnership with over 90 other organisations from the voluntary, corporate and statutory sectors and over 250 community volunteers. Our aim is that every older person feels warm in their home and connected to their community.

We do this by sourcing and distributing practical gifts and information across Hertfordshire that reduce the negative impact that feeling lonely and isolated can have on older people’s physical and mental wellbeing. We have a special interest in helping older people who are cold in their homes. We seek opportunities to connect communities with kindness.

You can find out more about hat we do on our website

We extend a warm invitation to businesses and individuals at Croxley Park, to come and help us pack our Warm in Winter gift bags. These lovely gifts contain essential keep warm items for older people such as a blanket, hat, gloves, socks and hot drinks. Last winter we packed and distributed 7,500 bags like these to older people across Hertfordshire who are cold in their homes, some having to make the almost unimaginable choice between heating and eating.

Thanks to the kindness and support of Croxley Park, we will be packing these gift bags this year at Unit 10 Millfield House and we would love it if you can join us.

The dates for Small Acts of Kindness packing days for 2020 are now confirmed as follows:

We welcome teams from businesses, individuals, families, friends and ‘bubbles’.

We will advise nearer the time, what exactly we will all need to do with regard to masks, sanitising and distancing, but please be assured that we will ensure that we are all as safe as we can possibly be. The project falls under the exempt category for ‘groups of 6’ as per current Government guidelines. However the maximum number of volunteers at each session will be limited to 12 unless by prior arrangement (i.e. for a ‘work bubble’).

We would love to hear from you about which days you would like to come and help and look forward to seeing you very soon. Please either give Frances a call on 07956 536978 or email her at including your contact number or book via our website.

We cannot do this without your kindness and support and extend a huge thank you in advance.
