Bromet Primary School

Bromet Primary School are looking for potential co-opted governors who can bring a wide range of experiences and expertise, we  would be particularly interested to hear from individuals who have a background in education, HR, IT, Premises Management and Health & Safety.

The expectation is that the Governing Body will include people from a range of backgrounds and experiences reflecting the community that we serve. Their experience, knowledge and skills will make a vital contribution to our schools successes.  
Being a Governor is a highly rewarding voluntary role at the forefront of developments in education.
 
The average time commitment will be approximately 3-6  hours per term and will include:
 
•         Getting to know the school by visiting occasionally during school hours and gaining a good understanding of the school’s strengths and areas for development;
•         Attending induction training and regular relevant training and development events in order to be able to contribute to effective governance:
•         Attending one meeting per term
•         Acting in the best interest of all learners of the school.
 
School Governors play a vital part in the success of our schools; they ensure that our children get the best from their time in school. It is demanding but rewarding and enables governors to acquire and develop a range of transferable skills such as:
 
• Personal development
• Contributing to the development of a vision for the success of the school and its pupils
• Taking part in dedicated training
• A sense of achievement
• Working as part of a team
• Gaining expertise in data analysis
• Playing a role in the local community
• Making a difference for our children  
Schools are a big part of the community that they serve and can provide a focal point for improving life chances for all. We are determined to engage the whole community in our school.  
Many employers encourage staff to become school governors, a role that has gained national recognition, since they realise that the skills gained are often transferable to the workplace.
